I read many post and read many question answer on dairy farming but i see many of the people don't know the basic life cycle term of dairy cattle so here I try to solve this problem in my simple language & examples,
First you want to know the basic term of life cycle like :-
(1)What is Breeding ?
Ans:-After watching this picture you better understand
(2)What is Gestation period ?
Ans:- After breeding cow, it is fertilize and after some time it give birth of baby cattle, So The duration between fertilize and birth it's known as Gestation period.(e.g. Like 9 month pregnancy period in human bean )

Ans:- The amount of time (days or months) between the birth of a calf and the birth of a subsequent calf, both from the same cow. (e.g. Like our mother born us and after 3 year she born our brother/sister so that 3 year is calving interval)
(4)What is Age at First Calving ?
Ans:-When baby cow become adult and ready for breeding and giving birth,in different breed this time is different (e.g. HF cow's Age at First Calving is 25-27 months & Gir cow's AFC is 48 Months)
(5)What is Dry period ?
Ans:-During Gestation period last 2 month cow is not give milk it's call dry period,Dry period is very important for better milk yield during Laction day
(6)What is Laction Length or Laction Yield ?
Ans:-After giving a birth cow is starting give milk,in different breed the time limit of giving milk is different,so that particular days cow give milk it's call a Laction length and during this days how much milk cow give it's call a Laction yield.
